Vas Daskalakis

Founder & Startup Builder

Vas is a WFA-certified guide who has spent the past 6 years in Kenya as an entrepreneur, amateur climber, and free diver. Before developing the "Habitual Unfixing" framework, she built and scaled her own startup from scratch to acquisition—raising >$2M, growing teams to >150, and navigating the full founder journey from high growth to burnout. Her experience ranges from Wall Street Investment Banking to Nairobi’s startup ecosystem, giving her a lived understanding of the difficulties of moving from a conventional career to designing a unique path. Her work facilitates intentional experiences for professionals — combining movement, wilderness immersion, and "unfixing" protocols — to silence external noise and break protective defenses to hear their intuition and reclaim their agency.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

How This Started

I didn’t go to the African bush looking for clarity - but that’s what I found. Adventure, cultural perspective, and long days in nature planted a handful of stubborn seeds: radical career ideas, a hunger for bold experiences, and - most importantly - new stories about who I could be.
When I returned to New York, I realized quickly that my job wasn’t a path to my authentic self. I didn’t know the “right” career yet, but I knew those seeds needed watering. After 1 year as a JP Morgan IB analyst, I moved to Kenya. A few years later, I woke up doing what I’d always wanted to - building and leading a successful social impact startup.

What I Learned (and Built For You)

For me, the answer was social entrepreneurship. For you, it might be something entirely different. That’s the beauty of inspiration: it takes a unique shape in each person.
My first time camping, hiking, and overlanding in the bush gave me the courage to drive my career “off-road” when I needed to. This retreat is my way of recreating that spark on purpose - for professionals standing where I once stood: Hungry for a different path, but unsure where to start.

What the Experience Looks Like

No rigid curriculum. No cheesy coaching frameworks. Just 1 week in the African bush - moving differently, laughing, reseting & reflecting, and asking real questions with peers.
I’ll facilitate optional strategy workshops to stretch your thinking in the evenings, and you’ll leave with post-trip support if you want it: free coaching hours, community, and accountability to launch your next project, idea, or career move.
This is a Bush Adventure for professionals who need distance to hear themselves clearly, & support to take their first steps.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Change your inputs. Change your story.
Each day blends adventure, reflection, 1:1 strategy, and group dialogue — the same tools entrepreneurs use to find clarity and perspective in chaos. Our pillars are:

Habitual Unfixing

The practice of stripping away the scripts and hierarchies of daily life to bypass our protective mechanisms and acheive a neurological reset.

Cultural Connection

Serving others and volunteering across cultures deepens empathy, and teaches true leadership — which begins with listening.

Fear Literacy

By never facing primal fear we were biologically designed for, we substitute it with low-grade, chronic stress that hyper-sensitizes our nervous system.
